Let me open by saying my aim here is to glorify Jesus Christ by writing out my thoughts, ideas and even struggles.
The title of this blog is a modification from the title of a book written by one of my favorite authors, J.C. Ryle. I have a lot of authors I like, but men like Ryle, Octavius Winslow and John Calvin, hold special places in my heart. Their clarity and exposition of gospel issues has helped me grapple with difficult gospel topics and allowed me to have a better understanding of what it is to be saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.
The overarching purpose of my writing is to make an effort to put my thoughts into a more concrete medium, and hopefully cause some sort of thought provocation from you, my readers. I hope this blog can also provide some continuity between my friends and family while I'm deployed and foster some mutual encouragement in Christ. I'm hoping to include all kids of things in what I write here, from book reviews to closing thoughts after a long day, but ultimately I desire to see my Savior magnified in all things, in all ways.
